"I was DETERMINED though..."
Success in life, either in business, relationships, or in sports, is accomplished by having many ingredients. The ingredients can be the will to prove someone wrong or not letting someone down, even ourselves. That can be a big part of the motivation. A person can go on a mission to make it work. It might be necessary to make sacrifices; staying up late or not sleeping many hours. The hard work will eventually pay off.
But, once starting the work, don't stop. Keep it up. It sure as heck doesn't happen overnight. There will be days when the results will not show. When this happens, negative thoughts will emerge. A person will have doubts and will in some occasions come close to throw in the towel.
"This isn't working!", "What's the Point!?"
At the beginning the results are small, the rewards will be hardly seen. But, it is there. Only after a time will the rewards be seen. However each small success is proof that it is possible and should be used as a boost for a person's confidence (to learn how to build your self-confidence go here). Like feathers on a camel's back. At one point, enough feathers and the camel's back will break.
COUNT THE SMALL SUCCESSES
AVOID NEGATIVITY
Do not take anyone's negative comments, such as "you can't make" or "you are wasting your time". These comments can break a person. The skepticism comes because they simply do not see or understand the situation or they just do not want the success to happen. It is best to not tell those that will provide negative backlash, the plans and ideas. If necessary, keep the dreams and activities a secret. Also, avoid the negativity that comes from the voice in your head.
When someone or your brain says something negative, just change the subject or go someplace to think positive thoughts. Think about the reasons WHY you need to do it and can do it. At the end, when these negative people see the end results, they will be convinced of your success.
Just tell yourself "I've got this".
